AVL portfolio expanded to include highly scalable and faster data analysis

The operational cooperation between the companies AVL List GmbH and NorCom Information Technology GmbH & Co. KGaA was recently started: The goals of the strategic cooperation between these two companies are the joint further development of the DaSense platform, the integration into the AVL solution portfolio with a focus on big data -Technologies as well as the realization of extensive worldwide projects.
Wolfgang Puntigam, Global Business Unit Manager at AVL, explains: “The cooperation with NorCom enables us to expand our existing data management product portfolio significantly in the direction of faster and highly scalable data analysis in order to provide our customers with development-specific information on large amounts of data throughout the entire vehicle development process in an application-oriented manner To make available."
The cooperation results in key advantages for NorCom as well. “Through the partnership with AVL, we are expanding our previously exclusively direct sales by an indirect channel, which significantly increases our sales opportunities. The global presence of AVL also gives us worldwide access to important customers, ”explains Dr. Tobias Abthoff, Managing Director at NorCom. "In addition, we receive important feedback through close cooperation with the experts from AVL, which we incorporate into the targeted further development of DaSense."
The purpose of the joint further development is to initially expand NorCom's DaSense software platform to include functions relevant to the automotive sector. Building on the extended platform, a software module for the test data management tool suite is to be developed, which can process object-based, spatial data that is specifically relevant for autonomous driving. As an integral part of the AVL solution portfolio, the expanded DaSense platform and the software module from AVL and NorCom are to be marketed in initial customer projects and integrated with customers.
The DaSense technology developed by NorCom manages and analyzes large amounts of complex, heterogeneous, semi-structured and highly proprietary data, which are particularly important in the field of autonomous driving.
